Planet Zoo 2 Animal List
Frontier is going all-out with the list of available animals in Planet Zoo 2, which will naturally evolve over time with the release of DLC packs.
The original Planet Zoo had over 200 species available to adopt and add to your zoo, setting a high bar for its successor, but the vast majority of those came through DLC and updates, with the sequel already set to exceed Planet Zoo’s original launch number.

How Many Animals in Planet Zoo 2?
There are currently 104 announced species of animal in Planet Zoo 2, though Frontier is regularly releasing new additions to the Zoopedia in the build-up to launch.
Many will be familiar to those who played the original Planet Zoo, as they make a return in the sequel, though they’ve all been significantly enhanced from the original title.
The stand-out editions, naturally, are the aquatic and avian species added to the game, with one of Planet Zoo 2’s biggest drivers being the ability to make your own aquariums and habitats for flying species.
It’s not all about the newcomers, however, as Planet Zoo 2’s customizable wildlife reserves mean there’s plenty of work to be done across the board.
